Vince "lowdown" Moretti

The calm anchor — dry humor, few words, heavy pocket. On stage he plants wide and drives the bounce from the bass, answering Frankie's leads with deep "bom-bom-bom" hooks that make the floor shake. The other two trust his ear for tempo and key; if Vince slows a count, everyone listens.

Backstory

Son of a dockworker who kept a battered Kay upright in the basement. Learned walking lines from old jump-blues 78s and church choir bass parts on Sundays. Met Frankie at a South Philly record hop when Frankie needed someone who could sing low and play at the same time; Vince showed up the next night with the Kay and never left.

Gear

1950s Kay upright bass, gut-wound strings, played pizzicato with a light amp blend through a small Ampeg-style bass cab when the room needs it.

Visual Identity

Broad-shouldered and solid, roughly 6'1", with short dark brown hair in a neat side part, hazel eyes, and a trimmed mustache. Favors a midnight-blue short-sleeve sport shirt, charcoal slacks with a wide belt, and brown leather oxfords. Always has a white pocket square and a simple wristwatch with a brown leather strap.
