The calm muscle of the band — quiet between songs, volcanic when the pocket locks. Vince holds the groove like a vice and throws in the occasional barked harmony; he's the guy who steadies Jonny's fire without ever dimming it.
Backstory
Grew up in a Mexican-American household in South Memphis where conjunto and early rock & roll shared the same kitchen radio. He started on electric bass in a wedding band, then switched to upright after falling hard for Bill Black and Lee Rocker records. Jonny recruited him after watching Vince slap a borrowed bass through a three-hour house set without breaking a sweat.

1940s Kay upright bass (refinished black), Ampeg B-15N flip-top, heavy gauge gut-style strings for authentic slap tone.
Visual Identity
Broad-shouldered and solid, roughly 6'1", with a thick neck and powerful forearms from years of upright work. Black hair combed into a hard side-part with a slight wave; deep-set hazel eyes; full but trimmed mustache. Stage look is a black western shirt with pearl snaps, high-waisted black trousers with a wide belt, and two-tone black-and-white brothel creepers. Wears a silver ID bracelet and a small gold cross on a chain.
