Ricky "Snap" Boone

Ricky "Snap" Boone

Drums / Percussion

Age 30

High-energy and loud even when he's not playing — a grinning chaos agent who keeps time like a freight train. Ricky lives for the snare crack and the crash that launches a chorus; he needles the others between takes but locks in the second Jonny counts off.

Backstory

East Memphis kid who started on marching snare in high school, then fell into rockabilly after sitting in on a friend's greaser night. He built his kit from thrifted shells and learned the train-beat the hard way — endless bar gigs until the right hand stopped thinking. Jonny hired him after Ricky crashed a Cats rehearsal uninvited and outplayed the temp drummer in two songs.

Gear

1960s Ludwig Super Classic kit (white marine pearl), tight snare with crisp crack, minimal cymbals — ride, crash, hi-hat — tuned for dry room punch and train-beat clarity.

Visual Identity

Compact and stocky, about 5'8", with thick forearms and a barrel chest. Auburn-brown hair in a short, greased duck-tail; green eyes; freckles across the nose and a small scar through the left eyebrow. Stage outfit is a sleeveless black tee under an open red flannel, cuffed black jeans, and white high-top sneakers with black laces. Always has a pair of vintage sunglasses hooked on his collar and a towel over his shoulder by song two.
